Patient Care Technicians (PCT) certification serves as a foundation for a future in healthcare by providing:

• Training in CNA skills.
• Training in phlebotomy (blood draw).
• Clinical experience needed to solidify career goals.

Students will be taught by McLeod clinicians and have clinical rotations at McLeod.

Students will have access to a state-of-the-art 6-bay Simulation Lab for clinical training.

Course includes:

• didactic training
• soft skills
• test preparation
• written and skills assessment

McLeod Health Careers is designed for F1S students interested in pursuing and developing a career in the medical field. Students will receive mentorship by McLeod Family Medicine residents and medical professionals, train in simulated clinical situations, conduct research on current healthcare trends, and lead project-development initiatives focused on serving population health needs.  

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) serves as a foundation for a future in healthcare by providing training in vital signs, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks such as scheduling and medical record management.

Medical Billing and Coding allows for the exploration into medical law and ethics, professionalism, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and with an emphasis on the development of medical billing and coding skills. 

Certified Pharmacy Technician provides a foundation in pharmacology, prescription dispensing, pharmacy calculations, hands-on simulation training in The Pharmacy at Poynor, and customer relations.
